Media touches

Procedure

  1. Check if the media type you loaded is also the media type you selected on the operator panel. Make sure the two are correct.
  2. Check if the [Media thickness ] setting in the RIP is correct. The media thickness determines the carriage height. This value represents the total thickness of the media, e.g. for self-adhesive vinyl, PVC including the liner. For more information, see Change the media settings.
  3. Make sure the media is not damaged or curled.
  4. Make sure the media and the printer are not stored in a humid place. Check that the humidity is not too high.
  5. Make sure the correct winding option is selected in the RIP. You can print and wind with a tension bar or a locked tension bar. Print and wind with a tension bar, Print and wind with a locked tension bar.
  6. Set the [Print gap] setting in the RIP. If the print gap is set to [Medium] switch to [High].
  7. Check if it is a media handling issue. For more information see, Solve specific media transport problems.
  8. Try a different media type.
