Introduction

The Counters module displays counters that are of interest to the operator. It shows counters for each color of ink and the total ink used. Some of the counters can be reset.

Table 1. Counters Explained

Component

Function

Lifetime Counters

These counters display a cumulative total of ink consumed or area printed over the whole life of the printer.

Resettable Counters

These counters display a cumulative total of ink consumed or area printed since the Reset button was last pressed. Time and date of last reset is displayed, if available.

Reset

The reset function will zero all the counters in the Resettable column.

Prints Completed

A measurement of the total number of prints completed to date. Each completed copy of a job will advance this counter. Special prints (nozzle check, alignment prints, etc.), overprints, and cancelled copies do not affect this counter. Display shows measurement in each possible printer configuration (flatbed/roll to roll) and an overall total.

Printing Time

A measurement of the total printing time to date. This is a complete measure of printing time, including special prints, overprints, and cancelled prints. Display shows measurement in each possible printer configuration (flatbed/roll to roll) and an overall total.

Printed Area

A measurement of the total media printed to date. This counter includes the area covered by special prints, and the partial area covered by cancelled prints. Overprints are ignored, as they do not consume new media. Display shows measurement in each possible printer configuration (flatbed/roll to roll) and an overall total.

Ink Consumed

A measurement of the total ink consumed on the printer to date. This counter does not include the ink consumed by maintenance purges, and certain types of special prints (ex. sep files). Display shows measurement by ink color for each possible printer configuration (flatbed/roll to roll) and an overall total.
