Maintenance Guidelines

Startup procedure

(at the beginning of each work day)

• Print a nozzle check

  When there are too many failing nozzles, do the following procedure:

  • Dry Printhead Swabbing Procedure

  • Print a nozzle check

    If the nozzle check print is not ok, do the following procedure:

    • Automatic Printhead Maintenance (AMS)

    • Print a nozzle check

      If the nozzle check print is not ok, do the following procedure:

      • Manual Ink Purge and Printhead Swabbing

Maintain White Ink

• Maintain White Ink

Clean Ink Spit Tray

• Clean the Ink Spit Tray

Clean Carriage Underside

• Clean the Carriage Underside

Clean Automatic Maintenance Station

• Clean the Automatic Maintenance System (AMS)

Shutdown procedure

(at the end of a productive session before a long time idle state (overnight or during the weekend))

IMPORTANT

Power and compressed air are required in periods of inactivity so the printer can perform automatic functions to maintain its operating state. These functions are necessary to guarantee optimal printing performance.

When the printer needs to be shut down for an extended period of time (more than 14 days) please contact your local service representative so that the ink can be properly flushed from the system.

AMS Printhead Maintenance

• Automatic Printhead Maintenance (AMS)

Clean Printheads

• Clean Printheads

Empty the Waste Trays

• Empty Ink Waste Trays

Replace UV unit Filters

• Replace UV Lamp Filter (every two weeks)

Clean the Carriage Rail

• Clean the Carriage Rail

Clean UV unit window

• Clean UV Lamp Unit Quartz Window

Check Coolant level

• Fill Coolant Bottle

Clean Horizontal Surfaces

• Clean Horizontal Surfaces

Remove Ink from Table

• Remove Ink from the Table

Change both UV Lamps

After 500 hours or when curing is insufficient

• Change Both UV Lamp Bulbs

Clean the covers around the Spit Tray

Bleed ink filter (CMYK)

After 5 Bags

• Bleed an Ink Filter

Bleed ink filter (White)

After 1 Bag,

and weekly

• Bleed an Ink Filter

Change Ink Filters

After 50 liters of ink, or if pigment looks weak

• Change Ink Filter
