Introduction

This topic describes how you can create a recipe that helps you to create new applications.

For this example we want print a glass table top with a fixed size. The table top has a diameter of 60 cm. We want it to print on the backside of the media. Also we want to add a logo and a white layer.

Procedure

  1. Open a PDF file with the image you want to print in ONYX Thrive.
  2. Select the PDF file and click on [Arizona Xpert.].
  3. Select the PDF file in the job list and click on [New application] .

A new Arizona Xpert Engine job is created.

In the [Files] tab one file is present: Image.pdf

  5. Click on the button [New file] to add a file to your application.
  6. Import a file that contains assets you want to add to your recipe.

In this case a logo and a circle that matches the size of the table top.

  7. Open the [Layers] tab.

The pages and layers in the PDF will be recognized in Arizona Xpert Engine. You can assign these pages or layers as input to a print layer.

Create 3 back layers, using the buttons and menu. Assign [Layer source] and [Type] to the print layers.

    • Back 1

      [Layer source]: Image.pdf

      [Type]: Colour

    • Back 2

      [Layer source]: Inputfile1-Logo

      [Type]: Colour

    • Back 3

      [Layer source]: Inputfile1-Circle

      [Type]: Image Area mask

    NOTE

Tick the checkbox [Flip horizontal] for all layers because the image is printed on the back side.

  8. Select two layers and click on the button [Merge selected layers].

When the two layers are merged, they will be printed in a single pass.

  9. Open the [Overview] tab. Click-and-hold the left mouse button to rotate the 3D view and to check the application.
  10. Click on [Save as a recipe].
  11. Add the specifications in the pop-up screen:
