Unload a media roll from the drawer

Introduction

Unload a media roll from the drawer when you want to load a new media roll.

CAUTION

Watch your fingers when you handle the media roll.
Loading heavy media, 25 kg (55 lb) or more, has to be done by at least two people or with the help of external lifting tools.

IMPORTANT

Handle the media roll with care. A dented media roll can damage the printer.
Only open the media drawer when the indicator light on the drawer is on. Do not open the drawer when the light is off, you can damage the machine.

NOTE

Put on gloves to avoid pollution of the paper by your fingerprints.

Pull firmly to open the media drawer.
Use both hands to turn the media roll backwards (1) and remove the media from the metal paper guide.
Pull the lever and open the clamp.
Lift up and take out the media shaft with the media roll, and put it on the roll loading station.
Pull (1) the handle of the locking mechanism towards you.
Remove (2) the media shaft from the core of the media roll.
Load a new media roll, for more information see Load a media roll (position 1). Or put the feed media shaft back into the drawer and firmly close the clamp. Make sure you close the clamp completely until you hear a click.
Remove the media roll from the roll loading station.
Store it in a safe place, so that it cannot fall over or roll away.
Close the media drawer carefully.
