Error codes overview

Introduction

When an error occurs you will see an information icon on the operator panel. Click on the icon to find information on the error.

In the table below you find the most common error codes.

1	5713	`Cannot read markers for media step control`	Clean the M&C scanner, see Clean the M&C scanner. Use the advanced black markers. Clean the media or use different media.
2	1701 1702 1705 5709	`Carriage crash`	Clean the platen and the buffer plate, see Clean the platen and Clean the buffer plate. Check the fan settings. Use uncurled or undamaged media. Use the correct winding mode. Use recommended media and profiles from Canon media guide website. Make sure media is not damaged or curled. Make sure the media can be transported well.
3	1760 1761 5760 5761	`Carriage position error during home`	Check if the carriages can move freely (i.e. is not blocked). Check if the platen is clean. For more information see Clean the platen.
4	15725 1270108	`Too late at XMS_MEDIA_SE (15B11)`	Make sure the media is not damaged or curled. Make sure the media can be transported well and is not too weak, slippery or sticky. Use a media that is reflective enough.
5	15729	`Too late free at XMS_MEDIA_SE (15B11)`	Make sure the media is not damaged or curled. Make sure the media can be transported well and is not too weak, slippery or sticky. Use a media that is reflective enough.
6	25701	`Wrong media width detected`	Media width does not match the measured width, please change the media width.
7	7703	`Maintenance tray not detected`	Place maintenance tray in correct position. Check maintenance chapter, see Maintain the printer.
8	21752	`Ink aging PH detected`	Automatic maintenance cannot be performed while the system is in error. To prevent damage to the printhead heating is switched off. Try to prevent the printer being in an error state for too long (e.g. overnight). When the error situation is resolved the printheads will automatically warm up again.
9	16731 16733	`Knife position error`	Make sure you use a cuttable media If the knife is damaged, replace knife, see Replace the knife. Check if there are no obstructions in knife path.
10	24704	`Open during run`	Do not open the media drawer when the led is off.
