Refill the chiller (new design)

Introduction

You can refill the chiller without service assistance.

NOTE

There are 2 types of chillers. In the first design, the condenser surface is located on the left side of the chiller. In the new design, the condenser surface is located directly behind the cover. This procedure describes the new design.

About this task

Refill the chiller when the fluid level is near the bottom of the green zone on the level gauge glass. See Vacuum the chiller and check the fluid level (new design).

Before you begin

Use Colorado 1650 prescribed:

  • Demineralized water

  • Pouring can

  • Screwdriver (Torx-25)

NOTE

CAUTION

Wear specified gloves when you refill the chiller to protect your skin.

IMPORTANT

Only refill one liter of demineralized water. When you use more the liquid can spill and damage the machine.

Procedure

  1. On the operator panel, tap on the [System] icon on the right.
  2. Tap on [Power management].
  3. Tap on [Power off].

    The system shuts down.

  4. When the system has shut down, pull to open the cover under the roll winder.
    NOTE

    There are 2 types of the cover under the roll winder. In the new design you can access the power switch through an opening in the cover.

  5. Switch the power switch to the 'off' position.
  6. Pull out the two power supply plugs from the sockets.
  7. Go to the chiller side and locate the cover under the fan.
  8. Unscrew the left and right screws on top of the cover with the Torx-25.
  9. Lift the cover a little up and towards you (1), then lift it up fully and take it out (2)
  10. Locate the lid on top of the chiller.
  11. Twist to remove the lid.
  12. Pour one liter of demineralized water from the bottle in the pouring can.
    IMPORTANT

    Use demineralized water, do not use any other liquid.

  13. Place the pouring can on the chiller and fill the tank with the liquid.
    NOTE

    Check the level gauge glass to ensure that you do not refill beyond the top of the green zone.

  14. Close the lid, twist it on tightly.
  15. Place the cover back into position.
  16. Fasten the left and right screws on top of the cover.
  17. Plug the two power supply plugs back into the sockets.
  18. Switch the power switch back to the 'on' position, and close the cover.
