Copy an existing media profile and edit it in ONYX

Introduction

You can also use an existing media profile as a basis and edit the settings in ONYX.

IMPORTANT

Copy a media profile with the correct media category. Do not change the media category, this can cause damage to the printheads.

NOTE

This manual provides you with basic information in order to create and change media profiles. Profiling is an expert task which requires additional information and tools not covered by this manual. Contact your local support organization when you want to create or change media profiles.

Procedure

  1. Open the ONYX RIP queue.
  2. Click on [Media Manager]. The Media Manager application opens.
  3. Click on the Colorado 1650 printer icon and click on [Media library] above.
  4. Select the media profile from the list and click on [Make Copy]. A new window opens.
  5. Fill in the new media profile name and click on [Ok].
  6. Select the new media profile from the list and click on [Edit].

  7. Click on the 'Next' icon. For more information on the general steps use the ONYX documentation.
  8. You can change the media settings under [Basic Media Profile Settings].
  9. Click on [Media options]. A new window opens.
  10. Check the media settings. For more information, see Change the media settings.
    IMPORTANT

    Do not change the media category, this can cause damage to the printheads.

  11. Give the media a new [Media Type Name] and click on [Ok]. The window closes.
    NOTE

    Check that the media type name is changed. Default it should be the same as the media profile name. You can also choose a different media type name, as long as it is unique. Also check all the other settings, especially the media thickness as your new media might have a different thickness than the media of the copied media profile.

  12. Click on the 'Next' icon to follow the steps.
  13. You can select the print mode under [Add/ Edit Modes]. For more information, see Select a print mode.
  14. You can change the specific print mode settings under [Basic Print Mode Settings].
    NOTE

    Fill in the same name as the selected print mode to avoid confusion.

  15. Click on [Mode options]. A new window opens.
  16. You can change the rest of the media settings. For more information, see Change the media settings.
  17. Click on [Ok]. The window closes.
  18. Finish all the steps to create the media profile.
