The TCP port specifies which port is used for a socket connection between host and varioPRINT 6000 series. When the TCP port has been changed in the Settings Editor, you have to reboot the printer to use the new TCP port.
The default TCP port is 9100. You can use a TCP port in the range of 7500-9100. As soon as a new port number is set, a check is performed with respect to the range. If the port number is not in the range 7500-9100, the value is rejected and a new port number is requested. A system reboot is required before the changes take effect.
During start up, the PRISMAsync Print Server checks if the socket port is not in use. If the port is already in use, an error message is logged and the socket connection is disabled.
