TCP port

The TCP port value specifies which port is used for a socket connection between host and varioPRINT 140 Series. When the TCP port value has been changed in the PRISMAsync Settings Editor, you have to reboot the printer to use the new TCP port value.

The default value is for the TCP port is 9100. Allowed TCP port value is in the range 7500-9100. As soon as a new port number is set, a check is performed with respect to the range. If the port number is not in the range 7500-9100, the value is rejected and a new port number is requested. A system reboot is required before the changes take effect.

At start up time, the print server checks if the socket port is not in use. If the port is already in use, an error message is logged and the socket connection is disabled.
