An administrator can configure that accounting data is required for print jobs and for copy/scan jobs.
When accounting data is required for a job, the user has to provide such data.
For copy/scan jobs, the user has to provide accounting data on the user panel before the copy or scan is made.
For print jobs, the job submission applications and drivers can ask the printer whether accounting data is required. If required, they can enforce the user to provide such data. Publisher Express, PRISMAproduce Tech and Driver Select for Microsoft Windows do this. Driver Express for Adobe Postscript doesn't.
If accounting data is required and the printer receives a job without accounting data, the job is kept in the smart inbox, and the printer indicates that accounting data is missing for the job. Next, the user can edit the job in the smart inbox, specify the accounting data, and then print the job.
This section describes the workflow to enforce accounting data for print, copy, and scan jobs.
When you print via Driver Select for Microsoft Windows, Publisher Express, or PRISMAproduce Tech, you will have to provide accounting data before you can print.
When you copy, scan, or print from USB, you will have to provide accounting data on the user panel before you start your job.
