Set the automatic roll switch

Introduction

In WebTools Express you can choose to enable or disable the [Roll empty: when a specific roll number is set].

This setting is only used for jobs when a specific roll has been selected. When the setting is enabled and a specific roll has been selected, the printer automatically continues printing on an identical (size and media type) roll when the selected roll runs out of media. If no identical roll is available, the job stops and the printer requests new media to be loaded.

When the setting is disabled and a specific roll has been selected, the printer always requests new media to be loaded when the selected roll runs out of media.

Procedure

  1. Open the [Preferences] - [System defaults] tab.
  2. Click on [Edit] in the [Printer properties] section or click on the [Roll empty: when a specific roll number is set] setting.
  3. Select [Switch to a similar roll (same type, same size)] or [Always ask to replace the empty roll]. Select enabled if print productivity is an important factor.
  4. Click on [Ok] to confirm or [Cancel] to reject your entries.
