Introduction

The Job Definition Format (JDF) is a collection of industry-accepted XML tags. Basically, any type of information regarding a print job, from the design stage up to postpress, are embedded in the XML tags. The JDF ticket describes the job ticket and it contains (a reference to) a file, e.g. a PDF file. Note that a JDF ticket can also contain multiple (references to) files.

This chapter describes:

• The JDF ticket specification of the PRISMAsync Print Server for VarioPrint i-series , release 4.3.0.2 and older.

• The extensions and changes to the general JDF ticket to connect PRISMAsync with Agfa :Apogee version 8 and 9.
