XJT specific information

The Xerox Job Ticket (XJT) is a ASCII based ticket that can be added in a print file, in front of the print information. The XJT job ticket enables users at host applications to set up complex print jobs that can take advantage of the wide range of printing and finishing options. The instructions contained in the job ticket are applied to the PDL print job.

This chapter describes the XJT functionality supported by the PRISMAsync Print Server.

The varioPRINT 140 Series supports the following PDLs: PS, PDF, PCL5e and PCL6.

Queue selection

On a DocuSP® controller, the user can create as many queues as desired. Each of these queues can be set on hold or released (spooling can be enabled or disabled separately). This can be implemented in two ways:

  • Printing from the queue can be paused or resumed. A disadvantage is that jobs in a queue that is paused are not visible in the Job Manager of the PRISMAsync.

  • The print jobs sent to a queue that is paused can be sent to the mailbox instead of the print queue of the PRISMAsync.

The PRISMAsync expects a parameter for each print job, indicating whether it should request that the job must be sent to the print queue, to the mailbox, or to whatever is the printer’s default.

Unknown XJT attributes

No XJT support for jogging

The Xerox 6180 can jog, however XJT provides no support for jogging.
