CCI signals

Introduction

Supported CCI signals

The following signals of the CCI are supported:

  • ENABLE signal (credit / no credit signal)

ENABLE is active when there are one or more credits available. The line will become active when credits become available, and becomes inactive when no more credits are available as a result of (a number of) COUNT_PULSEs, which decreases the number of credits, or a user action, who takes out the CCD card.

  • COUNT_PULSE signal

COUNT_PULSE decreases the available credits with one. When there are no credits left the ENABLE lines becomes inactive.

NOTE

The TEST_DEBIT and HOLD_CARD signals are not supported.

Timing

Timing specification on the COUNT_PULSE signal for the varioPRINT 140 Series:

  • Pulse duration > 50 ms

  • Pulse repetition < 10 Hz

The total time needed to count the largest format may not be larger than the time required to print the smallest format. Else, the next click would have to take place during the previous click.

Service diagnostics

If the engine does not function correctly, the service engineer must be able to determine whether the engine or the CCD is broken:

  • To test the ENABLE signal, a simple input test is available: 24-2-001:

Input Copy Control Interface ENABLE signal.

  • To test the COUNT_PULSE signal, a simple output test is available:

24-2-002: Input Copy Control Interface COUNT_PULSE signal.

  • To test the COUNT_PULSE pulse, an output test with a machine limited on time is available:

24-2-003: Input Copy Control Interface COUNT_PULSE pulse.
