Jobs created by the Arizona Xpert Engine result in unexpected print settings in ONYX

The job submitted from the Arizona Xpert Engine does not take into account the new configuration settings when I overwrite the ink mapping configuration of the default print mode in a QuickSet.

• Make sure that you have synchronized your printers, media and print mode settings between the Arizona Xpert Engine and ONYX Thrive (see Synchronize printers, media and print mode settings between the Arizona Xpert Engine and ONYX Thrive).

• Create a new print mode with the desired configuration and use this new print mode in the recipes and jobs created with the Arizona Xpert Engine.

The 'Overprints' functionality does not work.

The 'Overprints' functionality only works with ONYX Thrive 18.5. The overprint setting is not visible in the RIP Queue, but is applied.

If you use an older version you have two options to get the same printed output:

1. Create multiple copies of the print layer.

2. Create a new print mode that contains the overprint information.

I have defined X and Y offsets on media profiles in ONYX Thrive but these offsets are not visible in the Arizona Xpert Engine.

This is correct.

ONYX Thrive allows you to define a wide range of settings that can impact the way jobs are printed. Most of these settings are not visible in the Arizona Xpert Engine, thus you cannot see the impact of these settings in the preview.

When you use a media profile with X and Y offsets in a recipe or a job created with the Arizona Xpert Engine, these offsets will be used when printing the jobs, and they will have an impact on the entire application. Therefore it is advised not to use media profiles with X and Y offsets, unless absolutely necessary. If you do want to use offsets, make sure you use the same offsets in all the media profiles used within the same Arizona Xpert Engine job or recipe.

I have defined a QuickSet for my job in the Arizona Xpert Engine, but I don't see the impact of all these settings.

This is correct.

QuickSets allow you to define a wide range of settings that can impact the way jobs are printed. Most of these settings are not visible in the Arizona Xpert Engine, thus you cannot see the impact of these settings in the preview. Some QuickSet settings can even change the size of the printed image - i.e. scale, grommets, media reduction. When you use a QuickSet in an Arizona Xpert Engine job or recipe, make sure you are aware of the impact of all the settings configured in theQuickSet on your application, especially if not all the layers in the application use the same QuickSet.

I have defined tiling in my QuickSet that causes unexpected side effects.

Tiling in a QuickSet is not supported if the Arizona Xpert Engine job or recipe requires multiple print jobs on one side.

What happens if you have both tiling and multiple layers on one side is that sometimes you only get one tile at the printer instead of all the tiles or you may end up with a corrupt tile at the printer (one or more layers in the batch can be part of a different tile). One workaround is to use ProCut PrePress to do the tiling using their Panels feature, then, apply anArizona Xpert Engine recipe on the resulting PDF.
