Print an application based on a custom recipe

Introduction

In this example, we want to print an application based on the recipe we created previously. The recipe will include a logo on the front side, its offset values, and the merging of Front 1 and Front 2 layers. See Create a custom application.

Procedure

  1. Open PRISMAguide XL Engine via the shortcut on your desktop or start menu.
  2. Click on [New job]
  3. Select the newly created recipe.
  4. The [Overview] tab opens.

    Check / select the settings for:

    • [Preset]

    • [Media]

    • [Resolution]

    • [Mode]

  5. Click on [Select file].
  6. Open a PDF that you want to print using the new recipe.
    NOTE

    In this example the PDF has two layers, one intended for the front and one for the back side.

    The recipe has added an input file containing a logo.

  7. Open the [Layers] tab.

    Check the print settings of each layer. All the print settings are preserved (i.e. the same media profiles, print modes, layer types, locked input files, et cetera.).

    You can see that the front layer is merged, and that the logo is part of the merged layer.

  8. Check the preview in the [Overview] tab.

    A logo is placed on the front.

  9. Check the settings, then click on the [Print] button.
