Indicate the number of sets:

• Number of sets (maximum 65,000).

• Indicate if only the first set needs to be printed.

Enter a new name for the job.

[Print range]

Print range

Indicate if you want to print all pages or records, or want to select a print range.

[Special pages]

• [Overrule default banner / trailer page settings] : indicate if you want to overrule the default banner page, trailer page and separator sheets settings.

• [Use a banner page] : indicate if the job must include a banner page.

  The banner page contains: the sender name, the recipient name, the accounting ID, the job name, the printer name, the operator instruction, the cost centre and the number of sets.

• [Use a trailer page] : indicate if the job must include a trailer page.

  The trailer page contains: the username, the recipient name, accounting ID, the job name, the printer name, the operator instruction, the number of pages in a set , the number of sets, the number of staples, the number of folded sheets, the number of punched sheets, the number of creased sheets, the number of inserts, job received time, job start time, job completion time, the number of sheets per job media.

• [Media of banner/trailer page] : define the media for the banner and trailer page.

• [Use separator sheets ] : indicate the use of separator sheets to separate job sets. Separator sheets are not printed.

• [Separator sheet after N sets] : define after how many sets you want a separator sheet.

• [Media of separator sheets] : define the media for the separator sheet.

[Accounting ID] 

Accounting information

Enter information for billing and charging job costs:

• [Accounting ID], to identify a user or a group of users.

• [Cost center], to identify an organizational department, project, or group.

• [Note], to enter additional information required for accounting.

[1- or 2-sided]

Sides to print on

Indicate if the prints are printed on one or both sides.

[Binding edge]

Orientation and binding location

The orientation of the content is part of the original settings and cannot be changed. You can change the binding edge: the sheet edge to which the previous page is bound.

[Media]

Media

Select the media for the job.

[Cover]

Usage of covers

Indicate if you want to use covers and select the cover media. You can also indicate if you want to print on one or both sides of the front and back cover.

The default media that are used for covers are configured in the Settings Editor.

Multiple pages on a sheet

Indicate if you want to print subsequent source file pages on one document page.

[Layout]  → [Imposition template] 

Indicate if you want to fold a document: once to create a booklet, twice to create a quarto or three times to create an octavo. The sheets are printed in such a way that the pages of the folded document are presented in sequential order.

Same page multiple times on a sheet

Indicate if you want to print the same source file page multiple times on a document page

[Zoom]

Scaling factor

Indicate if you want to scale the image according to the page size, or set the zoom factor manually (25% - 400%).

[Align]

Alignment of the image to a sheet location

Indicate how you want to align the image on the sheet: to a corner, edge or to the middle of a sheet.

[Shift]  → [Margin shift] 

Margin shift in the source document

Indicate if you want to shift the margin of the source document to create more space at binding edges, with a maximum shift of 100 mm (3.94 inch).

Image shift on the sheet

Indicate if you want to shift the image on the sheet, with a maximum shift of 100 mm (3.94 inch).

[Margin erase]

Erase the margin of the document

Indicate if you want to erase the margins of the image. When you adjust the margin erase you erase areas of the image, with a maximum of 100 mm (3.94 inch).

[Print delivery] →

[Output tray]

Output tray

Indicate which output tray to use. The selected finishing method can require a specific output tray:

• [Stacker/stapler booklet tray]: for booklets.

• [eWire tray]: for wire-bound books with the eWire.

  Use this option together with the [Punching]  → [Die set dependent]  option to deliver punched sets of sheets to the eWire.

• Name of external finisher: for finishing with a DFD (Document Finishing Device).

  You can define the name of the DFD in the Settings Editor. Location: [Preferences]  → [Print job defaults]  → [External finisher]  → [Name] .

• [Perfect Binder tray]: only visible when selected by PRISMAprepare or PRISMAsync Remote Printer Driver.

Indicate how you want to sort the output, [By page] or [By set]

Indicate if you want stacking with or without an offset. Offset stacking depends on the active workflow profile.

Delivery method

Indicate the delivery method of the sheets in the output tray of your choice:

• [Print order], indicate the delivery order of the sheets.

• [Sheet orientation], indicate which sheet orientation is applied.

• [Rotation], indicate if the sheets are rotated in the output tray.

[Adjust image]

Adjustment of CMYK values on job level

Adjust the CMYK curves on job level when needed.

The PRISMAsync Print Server colour management and print engine ensure optimal colour reproduction on the media you use. However, sometimes you want to edit CMYK values on job level for a better result.

Selection of the colour preset

If required, select a default colour preset for the job:

• [Office documents], predefined colour settings for the reproduction of text and graphical lines in office documents.

• [Photographic content], predefined colour settings for the reproduction of photographs and images

Definition and adjustment of the colour preset

Adjust the colour settings of the selected colour preset and save the colour preset if required. The colour presets are also created in the Settings Editor.

Input profile and rendering intent

Indicate which input profiles and rendering intents you want to use. Furthermore, you can indicate if embedded profiles and embedded rendering intents must be overruled.

For CMYK you can indicate if the colour management system must preserve pure process colours or comply to standard colour management rules.

Spot colour matching

Indicate if you want to use the spot colour table that stores standard and custom spot colours.

Spot colours are managed in the Settings Editor, but they can also be added with the spot colour editor.

Halftone selection

Indicate if you want to change the default selection of the halftones:

• Halftone [Fine] for sharper texts or improvement of the colour gradient in colour areas.

• Halftone [Normal] for text, images and graphics.

Other colour presets

There are several other colour settings, each for a specific situation:

• [Print black & white] .

  Indicate if all colours are printed using the black channel only.

• [Use PDF overprint simulation] .

  Indicate if you want that opaque objects look transparent. Then, the underlying objects get visible.

• [Use PDF/X output intent] .

  Indicate if you want to print according to the embedded PDF/X output intent. Then, the Device CMYK definitions are ignored.

• [Overprinting black] .

  Use this setting to force black objects to print over background colour. This option is used by the native PDF RIP to prevent registration artifacts.

• [Preserve pure black] .

  Indicate if pure black preservation is applied when possible. Pure black preservation means that the colour black is composed of 100% K ink or toner. When pure black preservation is not possible or disabled, the colour black is composed of a mixture of C, M, Y, and K inks.

• [Black Point Compensation (BPC)] .

  Black Point Compensation (BPC) is used in combination with the relative colourimetric rendering intent. Black Point Compensation (BPC) scales input colours relative to the output black in order to preserve details in dark areas. When the output black is rather light, [Enhanced BPC] is preferred over [Adobe BPC] because it has a better performance.

Colour patches on the printed output

Indicate if you want to print an extra colour bar of colour patches on the printed output to check the ink density, dot grain and contrast. Colour bars are created in the Settings Editor.

Indicate if you want to print the values of the used colour settings on the printed output. Information bars are created in the Settings Editor.

Print quality adjustments

There are several settings available to adjust the print quality:

• [Sensing unit adjustments]  (only if sensing unit is installed)

  Use this setting to select an automatic adjustment to be performed.

• [Mode for automatic adjustment]  (only if sensing unit is installed)

  Use this setting to select the mode for the automatic adjustment in the sensing unit.

• [Image smoothing]

  Use this function when you want to apply an anti-aliasing algorithm to smooth images with a low resolution.

• [Moiré reduction for images] 

  Use this function when you want to apply a Moiré reduction algorithm to enhance photographic images. Please note that when images have a resolution below 300 dpi, the Moiré reduction only takes effect when the image smoothing function is enabled.

• [Trapping] 

  When you want to improve the object registration, you can select one of the available trapping presets or create a new trapping preset.

• [Color / resolution priority] 

  Use this setting for sharp edges when graphic objects with a high toner density may appear blurry at the edges of the graphic. The graphic objects may become less saturated. In general, a larger resolution improves the print quality but decreases the job productivity.

• [Print sharpness] 

  Use this setting to change the print resolution. In general, a larger resolution improves the print quality but influences the job productivity.

• [Edge enhancement for text] 

  Use this setting to improve the print quality for text.

• [Render large-sized text as graphics] 

  Use this setting to improve the print quality of large-sized text. This option keeps the benefits of using the text halftone screen for small text.
