Install a license via ORS

Introduction

It is possible to receive a license through On Remote Service (ORS). Instead of making the license request, you send a request to the back-office via e-mail and upload the license manually.

Once there is an agreement regarding the license(s) requested, a product license number is registered in the ILMS database. The updated licenses are transferred automatically via ORS to the engine. The administrator of the engine only needs to install and activate the updated licenses.

Install the license

Procedure

  1. Wait approximately 5 minutes after receiving the license request. The transfer of the updated license will take some time.
  2. In the Settings Editor go to [Support]  → [Licenses]  → [Licenses].
  3. Click on [Install] next to [Install license from remote server].

    The following window opens:

  4. Click [Install].
  5. The Restart required window displays. Click [OK].
    NOTE

    The system will not restart automatically after you click [OK].

  6. The install window confirms successful installation of the license. Click [OK].
    NOTE

    When the error 'An unknown error has occurred' appears, the license may not be available yet on the system.

  7. Restart the printer via [Support]  → [Troubleshooting]  → [Printer restart and job removal]  → [System restart].

Results

You can check the status of the license(s):

  • On the operator panel, tap [System]  → [About][ Licenses].

  • In the settings editor, click on [Support]  → [Licenses]  → [Licenses].
