This topic describes how to configure, upload and install operating system updates from a file via the Settings Editor.
The downloaded operating system update package is cumulative. This means that the package includes all preceding patches.
The operating system updates can be downloaded via: https://downloads.cpp.canon/.
The operating system updates consists of multiple files. This is called an update package. All files need to be installed, this can be done simultaneously.
Only from Mark 8.1.3, updates can be installed simultaneously in the order of your preference. If your system has a lower Mark version, you must follow the correct order (the 5-digit number in the beginning of the file name from low to high) to prevent errors.
During the installation of the operating system updates the printer remains operational, only to finalise the installation the system may need a reboot.
You need to have the access rights: [Access to installation tasks].
Download the operating system update package for the [Version of printer software] (e.g. v8.5.2.0) of your printer via https://downloads.cpp.canon/.
Open the Settings Editor and go to: .

Click [OK] when the progress bar shows 100%. Depending on your configuration, the system automatically starts the installation or you need to start the installation with the [Install updates] button.
To finalise the installation, the system may need a reboot. Depending on your configuration, the system reboots automatically or a reboot icon appears on your screen and you need to reboot manually.
