Introduction

Solve micro-uniformity, for example graininess, mottle and small repeating structures on your print. Visibility non-uniform distributed ink drops on your print. The reason for this can be incorrect alignment or coalescence. Follow the procedure below. You can stop at any time in the procedure when the problem is solved.

a poor grain in the 1st swath?

Perform manual maintenance.

Graininess

Procedure

  1. Check if the media settings in the RIP related to the media used are correct, e.g. [Media thickness]. Change the media settings.
  2. Change the Media step correction. Change the media settings.
  3. Perform printhead calibration. Calibrate the printhead.
  4. Perform printhead carriage calibration. Calibrate the printhead carriage.
  5. When you see coalescence in the print, decrease the [Print surface temperature]. Change the media settings.
    With coalescence results in graininess
    Without coalescence no graininess visible
  6. Select a higher quality print mode. Change the media settings or Select a print mode.
