Replace the aerosol filters

Introduction

There are two aerosol filters located on the sides of the printhead carriage. The operator panel gives a warning when you must replace the aerosol filters.

Before you begin

Use Colorado M-series prescribed:

  • Microflex gloves for handling ink

  • Aerosol filters

NOTE

For information on the prescribed maintenance materials, see List of Colorado M-series maintenance materials.

CAUTION

Wear the prescribed gloves when contact with ink or maintenance materials is possible. Gloves should always overlap sleeves. Follow the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) guidelines carefully in order to ensure maximum safety.

Procedure

  1. On the operator panel tap on the [Tools] icon on the right.
  2. Tap on [ Aerosol filters].
  3. Tap on [Replace] and read the instructions.
  4. Put on the Colorado M-series approved gloves.
  5. Open the top cover of the printer.
  6. Locate the aerosol filters on the sides of the printhead carriage.

    The aerosol filter is attached to a frame. You replace the frame along with the aerosol filter.

  7. Pull the handle of the frame to remove the aerosol filter.

    If it is difficult to reach the aerosol filters, you can carefully move the printhead carriage.

    Do not touch any other parts while you remove the aerosol filters.

  8. Take a new aerosol filter and insert it into the slot.

    Make sure you feel a subtle click.

    The handles of the frames must point outwards.

  9. Repeat for the second aerosol filter.
  10. Dispose the gloves and used filters as chemical waste according to local regulations.
  11. Close the top cover.
  12. On the operator panel, tap on [Replaced] to end the maintenance action.
