Define the use of color validation tests

Evaluation tests can have different quality levels based on different tolerance levels for the same metric.

You cannot change the metrics and tolerance levels for the pre-defined FOGRA, GRACoL and SWOP color validation tests. The profile accuracy test also has metrics and tolerance levels that are not editable.

  1. Open the Settings Editor and go to: [Color]  → [Color validation & verification].

  2. Go to the [Color validation tests] section

View the tolerance levels of a predefined color validation test

  1. Select a color validation test you are interested in.

  2. Click [Edit].

  3. After you check the tolerance levels, click [OK] to close the window.

Create a custom color validation test

  1. Click [Add].

  2. Define a name and description.

  3. Select the target chart form the [Color control strip] drop-down list.

  4. Indicate if you want to save the CGATS report.

  5. Select the first metric from the [Color metric 1] drop-down list.

  6. Enter the tolerance level (in ΔE) for quality level A in the [Threshold level A] field.

  7. Define the other metrics and quality levels you want to add.

  8. Click [OK].

Enable the storage of CGATS reports after a color validation test

  1. Click [Configure].

  2. Use the [Location of CGATS reports] setting to select the location of the CGATS reports.

    CGATS reports are stored on an SMB share. The system administrator can configure SMB shares.

  3. Click [OK].

Enable the printing of cleaning sheets before the test charts

  1. Click [Configure].

  2. Use the [Print cleaning sheets before test charts] setting to enable the printing of cleaning sheets before the test charts.
