Command signals

Introduction

The command signal assignments are described in this table.

In this chapter also the relation of command signals with certain status signal is described. For more information about these status signals see Status signals

Table 1. Command signal assignments .
Command signal	Name	Function	External finisher action
C0	Sheet exit	Indicates that a sheet is exiting the printer and entering the external finisher.	External finisher prepares to accept a sheet of paper.
C1	End of set	Indicates that the current sheet entering the external finisher is the last sheet of a set.	External finisher performs a set operation.
C2	Cycle up	Indicates that the printer requires use of the external finisher.	External finisher turns on components required for operation.
C3	End of job	Indicates that the current sheet entering the external finisher is the last sheet of a job.	External finisher performs a job operation.
C4	Large paper format	Indicates to the external finisher that the sheet entering the external finisher has a size in transport direction >= large paper format threshold size.	External finisher performs specific operation for large sheets.
C5	Job destination signal 1	Via the command signals C5 and C6, the external finisher can determine if it is the final destination of the job. If it is not the final destination, the external finisher is responsible for the transportation of the sheets to the next downstream unit.	When the external finisher has to pass sheets, it will also handle all DFD signals from/to the downstream.
C6	Job destination signal 2
C7	Automatic Full handling	Indicates the current sheet entering the external finisher is the last sheet before the gap which is requested by the external finisher for automatic Full status resolving.	External finisher prepares for automatic Full status resolving (i.e. perform a stack-eject).
