The varioPRINT iX-series can emulate a Xerox® 700 Digital Color Press. When you use DPlink, the Xerox® FreeFlow™ Makeready and Output Manager software can print to the varioPRINT iX-series.
The varioPRINT iX-series supports the Document Scan and Makeready application of the Xerox FreeFlow software. To create the connection between the varioPRINT iX-series and the Xerox FreeFlow software, Canon developed the DPlink software as an interface between the two systems.
DPlink is a software application that runs on the PRISMAsync. A print job is created when you print from the Xerox Makeready application. The print job contains a job ticket, which defines how the job is programmed, and the document content which is embedded in PostScript.
The job is submitted via LPR/IPP towards the LPD interface of the PRISMAsync. The received print job is converted and processed by the PDF interpreter.
The varioPRINT iX-series supports direct PDF printing.
The DPlink interface can be used for:
FreeFlow Makeready 8.0 and 9.0
FreeFlow Print Manager 8.0 and 9.0
FreeFlow Output manager 8.0 and 9.0
