This topic contains the following instructions:
View the PRISMAsync Remote Manager printers
Add a printer to the PRISMAsync Remote Manager printer cluster
Send the cluster key
Synchronise the cluster
Delete a printer from the cluster
Reset the cluster key
The PRISMAsync Remote Manager printers are grouped in a cluster that can be managed from the Setting Editor of each cluster printer.
You can add printers for which PRISMAsync Remote Manager is enabled.
You can view the PRISMAsync Remote Manager cluster printers on every printer of the cluster. Each list of printers displays information about the availability and usability of the printers.
PRISMAsync Remote Manager can be used in a cluster of maximum six printers. When there is no cluster yet, add a new printer from the printer that will be a part of the cluster.
Open the Settings Editor of cluster printer.
Go to:
.Click [Add].
Enter the IP address or the Fully Qualified Host Name (FQHN) in the [Hostname / IP address] text field. In this example: printer 2 is added from printer 1.
Enter a description in the [Description] text field.
Click [OK].
Result:
Printer 2 has been added, but is not yet usable. The cluster key has not been shared with printer 2.
If the added printer was already part of another cluster, it can no longer be used in that cluster.
The cluster key can be sent to printers that have the status [Not sent] in the [Cluster key] field.
Open the Settings Editor of one the cluster printers.
Go to:
.Check the [Cluster key] field of the cluster printers with the status: [Not sent].
When a cluster printer is offline, first restore its connection or switch on the printer.
Select the printer with the status [Not sent] in the [Cluster key] field.
Click [Send key].
The login panel of the new cluster printer appears.
Log in to the new cluster printer. To store the cluster key on the cluster printer, it is necessary to log in to PRISMAsync Remote Manager of the added printer.
Click [OK] in the [Accept cluster key] dialogue to store the cluster key on the new added printer.
Indicate in the [Cluster key accepted] dialogue to which Settings Editor you want to go.
Click [No] to return to the initial Settings Editor.
Click [Yes] to stay at the Settings Editor of the added printer.
Result:
After you added the printer the printer lists are automatically synchronised. However, when a cluster printer was switched off or not connected to the network, it did not receive the latest cluster information.
Open the Settings Editor of one the cluster printers.
Go to:
.Check the [Cluster key] field of the cluster printers with the status: [To be synchronised].
When a cluster printers is offline, first restore its connection or switch on the printer.
Select the cluster printers with the status: [To be synchronised].
Click [Synchronise].
Open the Settings Editor of one the cluster printers.
Go to:
.Check the [Cluster key] field of cluster printer you want to delete.
If the cluster printer is offline, first restore its connection or switch on the printer.
Select the printer you want to delete.
Click [Delete]
Check the [Cluster key] field of all remaining cluster printers.
When a cluster printers is offline, first restore its connection or switch on the printer.
Click [Synchronise].
Reset the cluster key, when the cluster key had been backed up or when the deleted printer was offline.
When you delete the current printer from the cluster, it leaves the cluster. The printer list only contains the printer itself. The other cluster printers stay in the cluster. They need to be synchronised to update their printer lists.
You reset the cluster key, when the current cluster key has left the cluster. This can occur when one of the printers left the cluster and the cluster key is still part of a backup. You also reset the cluster key if the deleted printer was offline and the cluster key could not have been removed.
Open the Settings Editor of one the cluster printers.
Go to:
.Check the [Cluster key] field of all cluster printers.
When a cluster printers is offline, first restore its connection or switch on the printer.
Click [Reset key].
Click [OK].
When you reset the cluster key and one of the printers is offline, the offline printer does not receive the new cluster key. Then use the [Send key] button to send the cluster key when the printer is online again.
