Automatic device registration in Cloud proxy

Introduction

This feature makes adding printers to your environment easier by removing the need to register the same printer twice. When you register a printer in PRISMA Home, it is automatically registered in Cloud proxy as well — saving time and reducing manual work.

The benefits include fewer setup steps, faster device onboarding, reduced configuration errors, and a smoother, more automated workflow, making printer management simpler and more efficient.

NOTE

Having the Cloud proxy installed is a mandatory part of PRISMA Home usecases.

How the automatic device registration works

Previously, when a new printer was added:

  1. It had to be registered in PRISMA Home, and

  2. Registered again separately in Cloud proxy

The behavior depends on your current situation, based on whether you already are using the Cloud proxy, or not.

Cloud proxy is already installed

When you register a printer in PRISMA Home:

  1. The system detects that Cloud proxy is available.

  2. The printer is automatically added to Cloud proxy.

You do not need to perform any additional actions.

Cloud proxy is installed at a later time

If devices were already registered in PRISMA Home before Cloud proxy was installed:

  1. When Cloud proxy starts for the first time, it checks for printers already known in PRISMA Home.

  2. These printers are automatically added to Cloud proxy.

No manual setup is required.
