When a synchronisation is running, users at the control panel or in PRISMAsync Remote Manager are still able to change resources and settings of the synchronisation area.
However, these changes are not included in the synchronisation data. This can lead to a synchronisation failure when there are dependencies between synchronised resource entries and not synchronised resource entries.
Advice
Ensure that:
The cluster printers are not printing jobs.
There are no waiting or scheduled jobs.
Users are not editing jobs on the control panel or in PRISMAsync Remote Manager.
Users are not configuring one or more cluster printers.
When a synchronisation is running, users are not able to see the Settings Editor options during 15 minutes.
All other configuration tasks that can be done from the control panel and involve the resources are disabled as well. For example, during synchronisation you cannot create backups or restore a user configuration.
After 15 minutes the Settings Editor can be accessed again, although the synchronisation that includes a large amount of resource entries can still be running.
Advice
When a synchronisation takes more than 15 minutes, avoid that users change Settings Editor resources and settings.
