Removal of protective liners from the media can cause static charge. The ionizer bar removes static charge to prevent print quality issues. You must clean te ionizer bar to keep it free from pollution. Clean the ionizer bar once per month, or if print qualities occur.
Use Colorado XL-series prescribed:
Microflex gloves for handling ink
Stiff synthetic fiber brush with long handle
Cleaning liquid IPA
Always wear protective gloves when opening the covers of the machine.
Wear gloves when contact with ink or maintenance materials is possible. Gloves should always overlap sleeves. Follow the ink related Safety Data Sheets (SDS) guidelines carefully in order to ensure maximum safety.

On the user interface, tap on [Maintenance], then [Open top cover]. |

Put on the Colorado XL-series approved gloves. |

Open the top cover. |

Locate the ionizer bar. The ionizer bar is located on the bottom of the printhead beam. |

Carefully brush the ionizer bar with a dry and stiff synthetic fiber cleaning brush. |

If brushing the pins with a dry brush does not have the desired result, use cleaner IPA to wet the synthetic fiber cleaning brush. |

Dispose the gloves as chemical waste according to local regulations. |

Close the top cover. |
