Add colours to the colour palette

The colour palette offers users the possibility to store and manage colours within the application. The palette can contain colours from the [RGB], [CMYK] and [Escala de grises] colour space. It is not a complete library, but a means to quickly access the most-used colours and the colours from the document. The user can add, copy, edit and delete colours from the palette. Pantone Spot Colours libraries are automatically installed.

The available colours in the [Paleta de colores] are shown in two tabs:

  1. [Mi paleta]

These colours are defined by the user.

  2. [Paleta de documentos]

These colours are used in the current document for text and graphics. Colours of images are not available. Tab [Paleta de documentos] is only available when the colour palette is opened via the [Editar colores] dialogue.

The [Paleta de colores] is available in the [Páginas] and the [VDP] workspace.

Add or edit a colour

  1. Click: [Herramientas] - [Paleta de colores...].

  2. Click button [Nuevo] to add a new colour to the colour palette.

    • [Color directo]

You can define a custom [Color directo]. See the procedure "Create a spot colour" below.

Define the [Brillo]. With this setting you can make the image lighter or darker.

You can define the colour manually or you can use the colour picker.

Add a spot colour

You can add spot colours to the colour palette.

  1. Define a name for the colour.

  2. Select value [Color directo].

  3. Define a name for the spot colour.

The default name of the spot colour is used when you select a spot colour from the [Biblioteca de colores directos].

    NOTE

Do not use ‘All’ or ‘None’ as [Nombre de color directo]. ‘All’ and ‘None’ are reserved names. The print results become unpredictable when you use these reserved names.

  4. Default or custom spot colour

    • Click [Biblioteca de colores directos...] if you want to use a default spot colour.

Select a library from the drop-down list. Select the spot colour from the list of colours. You can type - part of - a spot colour name in field [Nombre] and click button [Filtro]. A subset of the available spot colours is displayed. Click [Aceptar] when you have selected a spot colour.

The name of the default spot colour is automatically used for option [Nombre de color directo]. It is recommended to change the [Nombre de color directo] when you can change the [Tono] of the spot colour.

    • [Personalizar color directo]

Use the [Modo de entrada] to define the [Espacio de color] of the custom spot colour. You can define the colour manually or you can use the colour picker. You can change the [Tono] of the custom spot colour. You can also select a default spot colour first. Then, you can customise the spot colour using the input mode and the tint.

  5. [Tono]

You can create a tint or lighter percentage of a spot colour.

  6. Click [Aceptar].
