The [Finisher adapter] and the Bridge are two interface modules that improve the connectivity to DFD finishers. With these two interface modules there is no need to install a stacker behind the varioPRINT DP Line only to connect DFD finishers.
You can connect the [Finisher adapter] directly after the varioPRINT DP Line or directly after some specific finishers (not all finishers), no Bridge is needed.

In a system configuration with only a [Finisher adapter] and a DFD finisher, error sheets and system jobs are sent to the escape tray of the [Finisher adapter]. The escape tray is behind the door of the [Finisher adapter] at the bottom of the module.
You can also connect the [Finisher adapter] to the stacker / stapler - W1. A Bridge is needed to connect the [Finisher adapter] to the stacker / stapler. The Bridge replaces the upper tray of the stacker / stapler. The other tray and all (optional) functionality (stacking, stapling, punching and saddle stitching) remain available.

In a system configuration with a Bridge, you can slide the cover of the Bridge to the rear to have better access to the stacker / stapler - W1.
The [Finisher adapter] turns the sheets, therefor it is not possible to use tabs. You can only use trailing edge tabs.
When you use oriented media or pre-punched media the print-performance of duplex jobs becomes 40% lower for A4-like media and 50% lower for A3-like media.
When a paper jam occurs in the [Finisher adapter] or Bridge, the operator panel indicates which covers you have to open to remove the sheets.
To access the [Finisher adapter] open the front door. To access the Bridge open the two top covers.
