Setting 'Convert PDF TrueType fonts as CID font Type2' is disabled by default. If this setting is disabled, double-byte TrueType fonts embedded in PDF files are converted into CID Type0 fonts. A conversion to CID Type0 fonts provides the best print quality. When you enable this setting, faulty TrueType font hinting in some fonts can be solved. If this setting is enabled, double-byte TrueType fonts embedded in PDF files are converted into CID Type2 PostScript fonts.
