The Open Interface version 1.4 of PRISMAdirect provides functionality for:
Importing orders or jobs into the system and exporting orders from the system
Submitting jobs from a JDF enabled external application and provide status feedback
With PRISMAdirect, jobs cannot exist without being associated to an order. The order contains one or more jobs and it defines common things like delivery and owner information, etc.
PRISMAdirect can import orders and jobs. When a job is imported, PRISMAdirect creates an order containing a single job. The order will use either a default order ticket or an order ticket is created based on import mappings.
Export will always export orders in a packet ZIP file.
The figure below shows how this functionality is embedded in the overall PRISMAdirect system. The base of the system is the PRISMAdirect, which contains orders and a configuration store. On top of this core, all applications are built.
