Create and edit a spot colour in Settings Editor

This topic contains the following instructions.

1. Go to the spot colours

2. Create a new [CMYK] spot colour

3. Add [CMYK] values to a spot colour

Go to the spot colours

1. Open the Settings Editor and go to: [Colour]  → [Spot colours] .

Create a new [CMYK] spot colour

1. Click [Add].

2. Enter a name for the spot colour.

3. Use the [Input mode] option to select [CMYK].

   Add [CMYK] spot colour

4. Use the [Media family] drop-down list to select the media family .

5. Use the [Halftone] drop-down list to select the halftone.

6. Enter a value (%) in the [Tint] field.

7. Enter values in the [C], [M], [Y], and [K] fields.

8. Click [OK].

   The spot colour definition is stored in the custom spot colour library.

   

Add [CMYK] values to a spot colour

You can add [CMYK] values to a spot colour to apply to a specific media family.

1. Click the [CMYK] spot colour.

2. Click [Edit].

3. Click [Add CMYK value].

4. Select a new media family.

   The new combination is listed.

   

5. Enter a value (%) in the [Tint] field.

   The [Old] colour patch is the colour rendering of the Lab definition. The [New] colour patch shows the rendering of the CMYK values for the media family.

6. Click [OK].

   The media family is added.

Create a new [CIELAB] spot colour

1. Click [Add].

2. Enter a name for the spot colour

3. Use the [Input mode] option to select [CIELAB].

   

4. Enter values in the [L*], [a*], and [b*] fields.

5. Click [OK].

   The spot colour is stored in the custom spot colour library.

   

Delete a spot colour

You can only delete custom spot colours.

1. Select a spot colour.

2. Click [Delete]

Print a test chart

1. Click a spot colour.

2. Click [Edit].

3. Use the [Media family] drop-down list to select the media family .

   Print patch chart

4. Use the [Step size] option to define the degree of patch variations.

5. Use the [Media] drop-down list to select the media for the media family

6. Click [Print patch chart] to print the chart.
