The table below lists the standard scalable PCL fonts supported by the PRISMAsync Print Server. Any text in brackets indicates an alternative naming of the font weight or style.

Bitmap fonts

The print server does not support bitmap fonts.

Optional fonts

User fonts can be installed by uploading fonts via the Settings editor (Workflow / Fonts). The user fonts are stored on the disk. Once fonts are stored on the disk, the interpreter must be restarted.

User fonts can also be deleted via the Settings editor. The controller must be restarted for the fonts deletion to take effect.

Download fonts and symbol sets

Download fonts can be software downloaded from applications. These download fonts can be temporary or permanently downloaded. Temporary storage means that the fonts will be stored in local memory of the PDL environment and will be removed after the job has been completely processed. When fonts are downloaded permanently they will also be stored in local memory of the PDL environment.

If download fonts are used in forms, the fonts have to be included in the form description.

Installable download fonts and symbol sets

In the Settings editor you can specify "Download resources to disk". If you select yes, downloaded objects in the PCL datastream (for example fonts, symbol sets, macro's) are stored permanent on disk.
