Alto (default)

• Elevation up to 1 mm

• Elevation is built up with CMYK (+ white for CMYKWW configurations, + varnish for CMYKWV configurations).

  The use of varnish can help to reduce surface tension.

• A white layer is printed automatically to isolate the elevation from the color layer.

• A Varnish Overcoat can be printed as a protective layer or to optimize the color of the image. See Print an elevated job for more information.

Alto-white

• Elevation up to 1 mm

• Elevation is built up with white ink (+ varnish, when available).

  The use of varnish can help to reduce surface tension.

• A Varnish Overcoat can be printed as a protective layer or to optimize the color of the image.

Alto matte-gloss

• Matte-gloss elevated prints

• The option is available for Alto and for Alto plus.

• A layer in the design defines the matte-gloss areas.

NOTE

The varnish overcoat option applies a varnish layer over the entire job. The matte gloss option only prints on areas specified in the varnish layer.

Alto-Plus (default)

• Elevation up to 4 mm

• Elevation is built up with CMYK (+ white for CMYKWW configurations, + varnish for CMYKWV configurations).

  The use of varnish can help to reduce surface tension.

• A white layer is printed automatically to isolate the elevation from the color layer.

• A Varnish Overcoat can be printed as a protective layer or to optimize the color of the image.

Ink Only (double sided)

• The ink-only prints are printed on a liner that is removed after printing.

• The Backside layer option is provided for double-sided, ink-only prints. The layer for the Backside must be flipped.

• When a backside layer is defined, two print jobs are sent to the printer. First, the backside and four white layers are printed on a liner. Next, the elevation and color layers are printed on top. Once the printing is complete, the liner is removed, leaving only the ink layers.

• The option is available for Alto and for Alto plus.

Alto-Plus (Mold)

• Elevation up to 4 mm

• Elevation is built up with CMYK + white for CMYKWW configurations, + varnish for CMYKWV configurations.

  The use of varnish can help to reduce surface tension.

• No color layer is printed.

• A Varnish Overcoat can be printed as a protective layer.

Brila

• No undercoat

• White undercoat

• Elevation up to 0,25 mm

• Varnish is printed on top of the color layer

• A white undercoat can be printed to isolate the media color or to add the color white to the design.

  The white data must be present as separate Layer/ Group in the print file.

Extra option:

• Elevation up to 1 mm

• For braille applications.

NOTE

A thicker layer of varnish can appear slightly brownish on a light background.
