Misalignment between gloss and matte in FLXfinish+ mode

Introduction

The misalignment is visible as white lines between the gloss and matte parts of the print.

Problem description

Cause

Action

Misalignment between gloss and matte in FLXfinish+ mode

More likely to be visible in the 1st meter of a print.

Media step not accurate

Perform a media calibration.

Procedure

  1. Perform a media calibration. Calibrate the media. A media calibration will minimize misalignment between matte and gloss in 1st meter (40") of the print, caused by the media step.
  2. Make sure that the [Automatic advance correction] setting in the RIP is enabled. Use enhanced markers. Change the media settings.
  3. After printing for about 0.5-0.7 m with [Automatic advance correction] enabled, the automatic advance correction will have optimized the media step. Any misalignment between matte and gloss in FLXfinish+ mode will then also disappear.
