This operation guide helps you to achieve your business purposes while you prepare and print jobs with the varioPRINT iX-series.

Read this operation guide to learn what the varioPRINT iX-series can do for you: how to operate, maintain, evaluate, and configure the printer and how to use it in a safe way.

After the introduction, the safety information is described. The guide continues with basic information on the printer (chapter 3) and to getting started (chapter 4).

How to define the printer defaults is described in chapter 5.

Plastic containers for consumables replaced by consumable boxes

Ink, ColorGrip, and PML are now packed in consumable boxes.

New control panel

Starting with this release, the new control panel is included in the standard configuration. This panel features capacitive touch technology for a sensitive and accurate touch response. It has a 21.5 inch screen, a resolution of 1360x768, and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

NOTE

The control panel is compatible with existing printers running R4.6.1.

New sentry behavior for skewed sheets

Sheets with too much skew are now sent to the sentry bin automatically. The rejected sheet is shown in the sentry rejects overview.
