Replace the printing cassette

Introduction

You can replace the printing tissue without service assistance.

  • The user interface gives an orange warning when you can replace the printing cassette.

  • The user interface gives a red warning when you must replace the printing cassette.

  • You can take out a partially used printing cassette and place it back later.

Before you begin

Use the Colorado XL-series prescribed:

  • Microflex gloves for handling ink

  • printing cassette

  • Cleaning liquid IPA

  • Lint free cloths

CAUTION

Always wear protective gloves when opening the covers of the machine.

CAUTION

Wear gloves when contact with ink or maintenance materials is possible. Gloves should always overlap sleeves. Follow the ink related Safety Data Sheets (SDS) guidelines carefully in order to ensure maximum safety.

Procedure

On the user interface tap on [Maintenance], then [Replace printing cassette.]

Tap on [Start] to start the procedure.

Move to the media output side and wait until the carriage has moved into position.

Open the maintenance door.

Open the top cover.

Put on the Colorado XL-series approved gloves.

Locate the printing cassette and its cover.

Pull the green lever towards you to unlock the printing cassette.

Place your fingers on both sides of the cassette and lift it out of its slot.

Dispose the used tissue cassette as chemical waste according to local regulations.

Wet a lint free cloth with cleaner IPA and clean any ink residue off the printing cassette cover.

Take a new printing cassette and use the QR code scanner to scan its code.

Place the new printing cassette into the slot.

Lower the backside of the cassette into the slot first, then the front side. Make sure it clicks into place.

Dispose the gloves as chemical waste according to local regulations.

Close the top cover.

Close the maintenance door.

On the user interface, tap [Confirm] to end the maintenance action.
