Print one document twice on a larger media using same-up.

In this exercise, a document is printed on a larger medium double-sided to minimize print cost.

1. Open the file SherlockHolmes_A4.pdf.

2. In the left pane, select the [Document] workspace.

3. From the menu, click [Select]  → [All]  to select all pages.

4. Click the [From media catalogue] button. The media catalogue opens.

5. Select a media of size A3 and click [Assign].

   The [Page size] dialogue opens.

   NOTE

   A larger media than the page size is assigned. In this case the page size must be kept.

6. Select [Keep page size] and click [OK].

7. Go to the [Production] workspace.

8. Select a physical printing device, e.g. a imagePRESS series or varioPRINT series printer. If not available, select the PRISMAprepare print to PDF printer.

9. In the [Layout] section, do:

   1. Select the landscape icon of option [Document media].

   2. For [Imposition template], select [Same-up with binding edge inside].

      The preview changes and displays the number of the pages.

   

10. Click the [Print] button. The document is sent to the printer.

11. Save the file in the 'Participants' folder on the desktop with the name Scenario_43.pdf.
