What are templates?

Introduction

A template is a group of predefined settings, that can be applied to a complete job, to a selection of documents in a job, or to a single document of a job. You can also choose a template for a Hot Folder.

Types of Templates

Description

Factory template

One built-in template is provided by default, the factory template. It provides a standard and optimized configuration for the selected printer.

You cannot change or delete the factory default template.

Custom template

A user can create his own custom templates. A user can edit, delete, and export his own templates. A custom template can be defined as default.

Content of a template

For a factory default template the content of the template is fixed, and the settings are optimized for the selected printer.

For a custom template you can configure a set of default values. The availability and name of the settings depend on the printer type.

Select the settings for the original document: Image orientation, legend position, and the file parameters.
