Clean the media cover

Introduction

When the printer is polluting your media with uncured ink, check the media cover. In case of pollution, you can clean the media cover.

Before you begin

Use Océ Colorado 1640 prescribed:

  • Nitrile gloves for handling ink

  • Lint free cloths

  • Cleaning liquid (IPA)

NOTE

CAUTION
  • Wear the prescribed Océ Colorado 1640 nitrile gloves.

  • You can wear the Microflex gloves for an hour after they have been contaminated with ink. After an hour you must put on new gloves.

  • You can only wear the Ansell Touch N Tuff gloves for ten minutes after they have been contaminated with ink. After ten minutes you must put on new gloves.

Procedure

  1. Put on the Océ Colorado 1640 approved nitrile gloves.
  2. Go to the media input side and open the media cover.
  3. Inspect if the media cover is polluted on the inside.
  4. Take a lint free cloth and clean the media cover.
  5. Dampen the cloth with the cleaning liquid to remove any remaining ink.
    IMPORTANT

    Use the prescribed cleaning liquid. Do not use any other cleaners.

  6. Dispose the gloves, cloths and pin as chemical waste according to local regulations.
  7. Close the media cover.
