When you add or edit a spot colour definition, you can print a patch chart to check how the set CMYK values and small variations on these values appear on media. The printed colours and the CMYK values of the patches give the best visual match to fine-tune the spot colour for the given media family.

A patch chart shows 39 patches that each have a variation of the set CMYK value. You print a patch chart on the media that belong to the media family of the CMYK value of the spot colour.

Patchverschillen

De patches worden ingedeeld in drie rijen. Alle patches van een rij hebben dezelfde K-waarde. De patches in de middelste rij staan voor de K-waarde van de steunkleur.
De K-waarde wordt verlaagd voor de bovenste rij en verhoogd voor de onderste rij. De stapgrootte bepaalt de nieuwe K-waarden.
De patches in een rij vertonen variaties in CMY-waarden. De stapgrootte bepaalt het verschil tussen twee aangrenzende patches.

Patches met een zwart kruis

Wanneer een kleurwaarde overeenkomt met een kleurwaarde van een andere patch, wordt een van de patches weergegeven als een witte patch met een zwart kruis.

Patches met rode tekst

Wanneer een CMYK-waarde onder de 0% of boven de 100% komt, wordt de waarde afgekapt. Deze nieuwe CMYK-waarde wordt in rode tekst afgedrukt en rond de patch wordt een stippellijn weergegeven.
