Copy an existing media profile in Caldera and edit it

Introduction

You can also use an existing media profile as a basis and edit the settings in Caldera.

NOTE

This manual provides you with basic information in order to create and change media profiles. Profiling is an expert task which requires additional information and tools not covered by this manual. Contact your local support organization when you want to create or change media profiles.

Procedure

  1. Open Caldera.
  2. Double-click on the [EasyMedia] icon in the ApplicationBar. A window opens.
  3. Select the printer icon and click on [Next].
  4. Select your printer and click on [Next].
  5. Select the media profile you want to copy and edit.
    NOTE

    Make sure you choose a media profile with the preferred media category, as you cannot change the media category of a media profile in Caldera. For more information, see Choose a media category.

  6. Click on [Dup..]. A window opens.
  7. Fill in the values in the media window. For more information on the general settings use the Caldera documentation.
  8. Fill in the new media profile name under [Main Settings].
  9. Check the media settings:

    • Under [Parameters]: Change the media settings.

      NOTE

      You cannot change the media category of a media profile in Caldera.

      Check especially the media thickness as your new media might have a different thickness than the media of the copied media profile.

    • Under [Vacuum Power]: Change the media settings.

  10. Click on [Ok]. The window closes.
  11. Click on [Next].
  12. Click on [New..] to create a new media project (print mode with media settings), or select a media project from the list and click on [Edit..] to edit.
  13. You can change the rest of the media settings:
  14. Click on [Ok] and if needed follow the rest of the steps.
