When you open the [Preferences] - [Print job defaults] tab in Océ Express WebTools you can find the following settings, that enable you to define how a PDF is converted into an image for printing.
The [PDF render engine] setting defines how PDF files must be rendered.
You can choose between the following values:
[APPE: Adobe PDF Print Engine]
Select this value to render PDF files directly into a printable image.
[Adobe PostScript interpreter]
Select this value to first convert PDF files to PostScript files and then render it into a printable image.
Both choices of the [PDF render engine] support wipeout correction.
The [Overprint] setting defines how the colour tints of an object are merged when they overlap with another object.
You can choose between the following values:
[Enabled]
Select this value to improve the rendering of overlapping colours.
[Disabled]
Select this value to render the colours in the same order as they were defined. The overlapping colours will always come on top of the previously rendered colours.
Transparency information in a PDF document needs to be flattened before being printed. The setting is used for PDF documents containing transparency information only.
[Transparency flattening] is only valid when the [PDF render engine] is [Adobe PostScript interpreter]. [APPE: Adobe PDF Print Engine] does not need to flatten the file, it can directly print PDF with transparencies.
You can choose between the following values:
[Quality]
Select this value if print quality is an important factor. The processing speed slows down and more memory is required.
[Speed]
Select this value if PDF processing performance is more important than print quality. Large and complex PDF files are processed faster and use less memory.
Use this setting to print PDF documents containing unusual solid black areas which mask some parts of the drawing.
[Wipeout correction] is only valid when the [PDF render engine] is [Adobe PostScript interpreter]. When using the [APPE: Adobe PDF Print Engine] the [Wipeout correction] is automatically enabled and cannot be disabled.
You can choose between the following values:
[Enabled]
Select this value to enable this correction.
[Disabled]
Select this value to disable this correction.
