Check the PRISMAsync Remote Manager requirements

Before you start to configure the PRISMAsync Remote Manager cluster, first check the requirements.

Check the browser

Browsers need to support Web Sockets. Web Sockets is a bidirectional communication technology for web applications. To function it needs HTML 5 and JavaScript compliant browsers. Web Sockets defines the API that establishes socket connections between a web browser and a web server.

Check the PRISMAsync Remote Manager licence

Each new cluster printer must have a PRISMAsync Remote Manager licence.

  1. Open the Settings Editor and go to: [Support]  → [Licences].

  2. Check in the [Licences] list if your printer has the PRISMAsync Remote Manager licence.

Check the HTTP(S) configuration of the cluster printers

PRISMAsync Remote Manager uses the ports configured for HTTP(S).

When one of the cluster printers is configured for HTTPS, ensure all cluster printers are configured for HTTPS. All cluster printers must communicate via either HTTPS or HTTP.

Check the LPD configuration

PRISMAsync Remote Manager uses LPD.

  1. Open the Settings Editor and go to: [Configuration]  → [Connectivity].

  2. Check if [LPD] option is set to [Enabled].

Check the DNS configuration

PRISMAsync Print Server uses the DNS service to re-route jobs between PRISMAsync Remote Manager printers.

  1. Open the Settings Editor and go to: [Configuration]  → [Connectivity].

  2. Check the [TCP/IP] options.
