Start periodic maintenance

Introduction

Start periodic maintenance when the operator panel gives a warning.

You can perform a variety of maintenance actions and you can print a nozzle classification chart to optimize the nozzles.

IMPORTANT

You must perform all periodic maintenance once a month when indicated, otherwise the printer functions are not guaranteed.

On the operator panel tap on the [Tools] icon on the right.
Tap on [Periodic maintenance] .
When you want to print nozzle classification charts to optimize the nozzles:
1. Make sure [Advanced automatic nozzle optimization] is selected.
2. Select a roll to print the nozzle classification charts on.
NOTE
media categories:
- Heavy paper > 200 gsm
- Paper
- Film
- Polymeric & cast vinyl
- Thick film > 200 um
On the other media categories, these procedures cannot be performed.

When no roll is loaded with one of the above mentioned categories, no roll will be indicated for the Automatic nozzle optimization.

Use a media width that is as large as possible and larger than 840 mm in order to get the best optimization results.

The [Advanced automatic nozzle optimization] can take quite some time, around 25 minutes. The printer will optimize the media step accuracy and print two nozzle classification charts.
Tap on [Start] .
Perform any or all of the listed actions:
IMPORTANT
Wait until the [Completed] button turns black and the printhead carriage is in maintenance position, before you open the top cover and start cleaning.
