The [Registration] tab

To make sure your artwork is printed correctly, it is important that the media that you want to print on is aligned precisely on the table of your Arizona printer.

For registration purposes you can use one of the following layers as a registration layer.

  • One of the printable layers.

  • The cut layer that is generated automatically when your recipe also uses "cutting".

When you want to create an artwork that needs to be printed both on the front side and on the back side of the media, you have two options.

  • When your artwork is symmetrical you need to print the information in the registration layer only once. That is, because you can use the same printed output to align both the front side and the back side of the media.

  • When your artwork is not symmetrical, like in the example below, you need to print both the information in the front registration layer and the information in the back registration layer . That is, because you will need the printed output of the front registration layer to align the front side of your artwork and the printed output of the back registration layer to align the back side of your artwork.

Description

[Print registration on table]

This option is only available for the Arizona 13XX GTF & XTF and the Arizona 23XX GTF & XTF. When this option is used, the registration job is generated so that it does not print on areas on the table such as vacuum holes.

NOTE

It is important that the job is not moved once it reaches the printer. If it is moved, it may no longer match the non-printable areas.

[Registration layer]

Select the layer that contains the registration information.

[Type]

Select the type of information in the registration layer that you want to use for registration ([Image] or [Rectangle] ).

[Image] is particularly useful for clear media or for non-rectangular precut jobs where the cut path/registration information is not available in the PDF file.

[Rectangle] is typically useful for [Print, Cut] or for opaque rectangle jobs.

[Overprints]

When you choose [Rectangle], you can add a number of [Overprints]. This results in an elevated outline.

[Outline]

Define the size of the [Outline]. The [Outline] enlarges the registration and adjusts the offset for the print layers accordingly. Used in combination with [Overprints] it will generate an elevated rectangle, in where you can fit the media.

[Flip horizontal]

Tick this option when you want the registration information to be flipped horizontally.

[Flip vertical]

Tick this option when you want the registration information to be flipped vertically.

[Media]

Select the media profile in ONYX Thrive that contains the print mode that you want to use to print the registration layer.
