Define an output profile

What is an output profile

Output profiles are elements that are part of media packs.

All media print modes have a link to one of the available output profiles.

Status of output profiles

  • [In use]: the output profile is used in a media definition.

  • [Factory-defined]: the output profile is factory defined.

  • [Production profile]: the name of the production profile for a composite output profile of Device Link profile.

  • [Simulation profile]: the name of the simulation profile for a composite output profile.

  • [Paper simulation]: indicates if paper simulation is used for a composite output profile.

Go to the output profiles

Open the Settings Editor and go to: [Color]  → [Output profiles].

Edit an output profile

You can only edit output profiles that are not factory defined.

  1. Select the output profile.

  2. Click [Edit].

  3. Change the name and description.

  4. Use the options [Production profile], [Simulation profile], and [Paper simulation] when you want to create a composite output profile.

  5. Click [OK].

Delete an output profile

You cannot delete output profiles that are factory-defined or part of a media definition.

  1. Select one or more output profiles.

  2. Click [Delete].

Import an output profile

  1. Click [Import].

  2. Browse to the storage location of the output profile (ICC file).

  3. Click [OK].

  4. Import an output profile
  5. Enter a name and description

  6. When the [Production profile] field keeps the [None] value, device simulation is turned off and a normal output profile is created without device simulation.

  7. Click [OK].

Export an output profile

  1. Select an output profile.

  2. Click [Export].

  3. Browse to the location to store the ICC file.

  4. Click [OK].
