Learn about PRISMAsync Print Server user groups

A user group consists of one or more users (members) who have the same access rights. Only users that are part of a user group are authorised to access the printer. Users are part of one or more groups.

Example:

This example illustrates how users can be distributed across user groups. The circles represent three user groups; the symbols represent user accounts. The table below describes these user accounts.

You can maintain maximum 100 user groups.

[Operators], [Central operators], [Key operators], [Maintenance operators], [System administrators], [Service operators], [Professional Services operators], [Professional Services TIP operators]

NOTE

The user groups [Professional Services operators], [Professional Services TIP operators] are only available on VarioPrint i-series and varioPRINT iX-series.

Factory defined user groups have one factory defined user account by default.

You can add existing or new user accounts to a factory defined user group, except from the group of [Service operators], [Professional Services operators] and [Professional Services TIP operators].

Custom user groups

User groups that you created yourself on PRISMAsync Print Server.

You can assign custom user accounts and factory defined user accounts to a custom user group.

Domain user groups

User groups that you added and that belong to a domain.

The user accounts of a domain user group are defined on an LDAP directory server.

Example:

In the example below you see the factory defined user groups and a domain user group (PRISMAsync Administrators).
